This book is part travel log of things encountered and part sensory quest to revive our ability to marvel at the things that are right in front of us. It offers a window through which we can perceive endless different realities, up close and from a distance, suggesting a wondrous alternative to the earthly mundane.

Doina Alexandra Salomé Kraal (1980, NL) graduated from the Fine Art and New Media department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2002. She then earned a Master in Fine Art at the Central Saint Martins College of Art in London. Her work has been shown, amongst others, in the Point Blank Gallery, Johannesburg, Times Square Gallery, New York, Museum Boymans van Beuningen, Rotterdam and Foam Photography Museum, Amsterdam.
